  From what I understand, this is a very new Cold Stone. One would think that in the first few weeks of an ice cream shop being opened, they would want you to walk away with a pleasant experience along with the ice cream. Maybe add a little bit more ice cream or topping in the bowl to ensure that the customer had a good experience. The Cold Stone of Holt, however, did exactly the opposite. Granted, maybe the Cold Stone I’m used to (on MSU’s campus) simply gives too much ice cream. But it seemed that the Holt branch was not to any stretch of the imagination generous with their proportions. I ordered a like-it chocolate ice cream with oreo topping. After a brief oreo-ice-cream mix up that was corrected quickly, the employee put the ice cream on the cold stone. He proceeded by placing a single oreo on top (for 50 cents more for a single topping rather than no topping, I would think they could afford at least 1 and a half oreos), breaking it with his utensils, and then just folding over the ice cream onto the top of the oreo. No mixing at all. It was literally a broken oreo wrapped in a chocolate protective layer. $3.69 after taxes, and he gave me a smile like he knew I was being ripped off.
  
  If you want to experience Cold Stone Creamery, its worth the drive to East Lansing to avoid even the possibility of having a similar experience to mine. I’ll never go to that one again, and I will advise my friends to head to another ice cream shop near by if they don’t want to go into East Lansing.
